Individual Therapy
I take an individualized approach to treatment and will tailor the best evidence-based treatments to a child, teen, or adult's specific needs. In addition to providing treatment within the framework of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), I often incorporate aspects of other evidence-based approaches into treatment, including Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and Parent Management Training (PMT).
What To Expect
The process begins with one to two initial sessions focused on gathering key information about the client, their family, history of related or ongoing challenges, as well as the presenting challenges they are experiencing. The first session typically involves a clinical interview, followed by a semi-structured interview in the second session. Throughout treatment, the client may be asked to complete symptom surveys, which help monitor progress toward their treatment goals and reduce the symptoms that are most interfering with their life. For a specific challenge (e.g., specific phobia), treatment will, on average, take between 12-16 sessions, although this number can be variable on a case-by-case basis.
